History of Explore Academy - Rio Rancho
The first Explore Academy opened its doors in August 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Since that time, it has helped other areas use its proven model to provide an enriched, choice-based education for students in different parts of the state and the country.

Timeline
In August of 2022 the New Mexico Public Education Commission approved the opening of
Explore Academy - Rio Rancho for the fall of 2023.

ALL other nuts are acceptable: almond butter, sun butter, cashew butter, hazelnut spread, etc. Students must not have lunch/snack items that are peanut-based.
Please remind your students that peanuts, peanut butter, peanut crackers, candy with peanuts, "uncrustables" with peanut butter, etc. are not allowed at school.

Charter Contract
Charter Contracts in New Mexico must be renewed every 5 years. Explore Academy - Rio Rancho's first contract is 2022-2028, which includes the Implementation Year prior to opening. Read details in the Charter Contract folder.
